5 tips for cleaning your clinker

1) What type of tiles and tiles do you have?

Before you start cleaning your clinker, it is important that you know what type of clinker you are dealing with. It is crucial to choose the right cleaning method. Glazed clinkers can, for example, be washed in ordinary universal detergent and withstand all descaling agents. Whereas an unglazed clinker should be cleaned in brown soap. know more kitchen tiles cleaning tips

If you have natural or marble tiles, do not use descaler or acid detergents. The acid dissolves the natural content of the clinker and makes the surface rough and uneven. Instead, use detergent (check that it is free of acid), coconut soap or brown soap.

2) Weekly routine cleaning

When you know your type of tiles, you can easily maintain them with weekly cleaning. Always start by vacuuming your clinker. You can then wipe them dry with a dry cloth.
Then mix the appropriate detergent with 5l. water and wash thoroughly all over. Finally, wipe the tiles with a dry and clean bully until no water remains on the tiles. Be sure to always wear gloves when dealing with detergents. Whether you use brown soap or acidic cleanser, direct contact with the skin can cause irritation. Once your tiles have matte, you can give them a coat of beeswax with a soft sponge when completely dry. Beeswax protects and refreshes your tiles.

3) For fighting lime

Whatever you have dark or light clinker, you may need to clean them for lime once in a while. Again, be aware of the type of cleaning your tiles can withstand.
If you have glazed tiles, you can safely use various types of lime remover when you want the lime to come to life. Many detergents specially designed to remove lime are disinfectant and contain chlorine. These products easily remove lime, but they are bad for both the environment and your indoor climate.
You can make mixtures that remove the lime just as easily. For example, you can clean your clinker for lime with vinegar by using this mixture: water, 2 dl. detergent and ¼ dl. acetic acid or 2 tbsp. citric acid. If you have an unglazed clinker or natural stone clinker, you can buy descaling products specially made for this type of clinker. Products such as alkaline descaler can be used for both natural stone and unglazed tiles.

4) Cleaning of joints

You can often easily clean your joints and give them new life by regular cleaning with, for example, universal detergent, brown soap, coconut soap or soap shavings. Afterward, you can clean the joints with a mixture of vinegar and water. The mixing ratio is 1: 4. Finish wiping your grout with a wet cloth.

Please note that mortar joints cannot withstand acidic cleaning agents.

If your joints have black spots, they have been hit by mold. Here you need to start with a little tougher means such as Rodalon, Protox or Hysan. These agents are fungicidal infections and are very harsh to the environment. Therefore, read the instructions for use on how to best protect the environment during use. We recommend that you stay away from chlorine as it is bad for your indoor climate.

5) Professional cleaning and care
