Australia is characterized by seasonal natural disasters - tropical cyclones, storms, floods, dust storms, and forest fires. Tropical cyclones are most common in Queensland, Northern Territories, and Western Australia, from November to April. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs encourages travelers to keep up-to-date with the media and to follow the instructions of the local authorities.

Entry rules and visas

Citizens of Latvia may enter Australia without a visa for tourism and business research purposes if they have registered with eVisitor prior to travel on the Australian Department of Immigration and Border Protection's website and received a valid entry permit. If the intended stay in the country exceeds 3 months or the purpose of the stay is different, Latvian citizens must apply for an electronic visa.

Latvian non-citizens need a visa to enter Australia.
